South Korea's Yoon arrives in Malacañang for meeting with Marcos
South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol arrived at the Malacañang Palace on Monday morning as part of his state visit to the Philippines.
President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise ''Liza'' Araneta-Marcos were supposed to welcome Yoon at the Kalayaan Grounds, but heavy rains did not permit the outdoor arrival ceremony.
The South Korean president was with First Lady Kim Keon Hee.
The two leaders are expected to have a bilateral meeting to discuss areas of mutual interest such as cooperation in the political, security and defense, maritime, economic, and development fields, people-to-people ties, and labor and consular matters.
Later in the afternoon, Marcos and Yoon will grace the Philippines-Korea Business Forum at the Manila Hotel.
The state visit coincides with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic ties between the Philippines and South Korea. —KBK, GMA Integrated News
