Pia Cayetano formalizes reelection bid

Arriving on a bicycle, Senator Pia Cayetano on Sunday afternoon filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) for the 2025 midterm elections as she seeks another term in the upper chamber.

Cayetano, who is running under the Nacionalista Party, is included in the 12-strong senatorial slate of the Marcos administration for the May 2025 polls.

Before submitting her COC, Cayetano rode a bicycle a distance of 3.5 kilometers from the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) to the Manila Hotel, where the Commission on Elections (Comelec) set the venue for the filing.

She was greeted by her supporters at the vicinity of the hotel’s Tent City with pink and white roses.

Her brother, incumbent Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, was present to show his support as she formalized her reelection bid. —RF, GMA Integrated News
