Marcos, South Korea's Yoon to hold bilateral talks in Manila

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol will have a state visit to the Philippines next week at the invitation of President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr.

Marcos and First Lady Louise ''Liza'' Araneta-Marcos will welcome the South Korean president and First Lady Kim Keon Hee on October 7. The state visit is until October 8, according to the Presidential Communications Office on Thursday.

The two leaders are set to have a bilateral meeting to discuss areas of mutual interest such as cooperation in the political, security and defense, maritime, economic, and development fields, people-to-people ties, and labor and consular matters.

They are also expected to discuss regional and international issues to reaffirm their vibrant relations.

The visit coincides with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic ties between the two nations. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
