Comelec processed over 7.4M voter registration


The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has processed more than 7.4 million voter applications since the start of the registration period for the 2025 national and local elections (NLE). 

Data shared with reporters showed that as of September 30, the total number of registrants to vote for next year’s elections reached 7,436,555. Of the figures, a total of 3,630,968 are male and 3,805,587  are female.

Calabarzon recorded the most number of registrants with 1,223,159. It was followed by the National Capital Region with 997,062; Central Luzon with 834,467; BARMM with 416, 866; and Davao Region with 411,879. 

The Comelec main office registered 9,201 applications. 

The voter registration period for the May 2025 midterm polls started on February 12 and ended on September 30.

It was extended in Batanes to October 1 after the local Comelec office in the province suspended the last day of registration due to inclement weather brought about by Typhoon Julian. —LDF, GMA Integrated News
