Solon dangles 2-month salary: Show us how Guo escaped PH

Sta. Rosa, Laguna Rep. Dan Fernandez is dangling his two-month salary in Congress as a reward to any individual in the Bureau of Immigration (BI) who can disclose how dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo was able to escape the Philippines.

During the seventh House Quad Committee hearing that ended early Saturday morning, Fernandez fumed over the alleged lapses of the Bureau of Immigration (BI), which could have assisted Guo and her cohorts in fleeing in July.

“I’ll be allotting my two-month salary,” Fernandez said. “Sa mga matitino natin na mga kababayan na nandiyan sa Bureau of Immigration na makakapagturo kung paano nakatakas si Alice Guo using our airports or seaports, iyong dalawang buwan na sweldo ko, ibibigay ko sa inyo.”

In a Sept. 9 Senate hearing, Guo confirmed that she, along with her supposed siblings Wesley and Shiela, left the country by sea.

Guo revealed they boarded a yacht at a port in Metro Manila shortly before 10 p.m., sometime in July.

They later transferred to a bigger boat, she said, at a location she was not certain of.

While onboard the larger boat, Guo recounted being confined in a room for a few days, where they were not allowed to use their mobile phones.

Afterward, Guo said, they took a small boat en route to Malaysia.

She also asserted that no Filipino or Philippine government official lent them a hand in escaping the country. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
