Liza Marcos vows to protect PH democracy

First Lady Louise ''Liza'' Araneta-Marcos committed to protecting democracy, noting that justice in the country must always prevail.

In a social media post, Marcos said it was an absolute honor for her to be inducted as a regular member of the Philippine Constitution Association.

''It’s truly inspiring to join such a distinguished group of luminaries dedicated to upholding our Constitution and defending the rule of law. Am humbled to stand with you all as we work together to safeguard the rights and freedoms of every Filipino,'' Marcos said.

''Here’s to protecting our democracy and ensuring that justice prevails at all costs!'' the First Lady, a lawyer, added.

During the 63rd founding anniversary of Philconsa, Marcos took oath as a member before former Chief Justice Reynato Puno. President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. also graced the event wherein he lauded the vital role of Philconsa in preserving and protecting democracy in the country.

Founded in 1961, the organization aims to defend and preserve the Constitution and engender awareness and stimulate public interest on the basic law by propagating and promoting its importance. — Anna Felicia Bajo/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
