Bayan preparing impeachment complaint vs. VP Sara

The Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) said on Thursday it is preparing an impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte.

According to a report in 24 Oras, Bayan chairperson Teddy Casiño said the complaint should be ready by November when the sessions resume in Congress and someone will already sponsor it.

Bayan did not give further information on the basis of the impeachment complaint. But the group clarified that it is not politicking but wants Duterte to be held accountable.

GMA Integrated News has sought the side of the Vice President. But Duterte earlier said that there were efforts in the House of Representatives to oust her from her post.

She also accused House Deputy Minority Leader and ACT Teachers party-list Representative France Castro of being at the center of the impeachment talks against her.

Meanwhile, Castro denied the allegations of Duterte that she, Senator Risa Hontiveros, and former senator Antonio Trillanes IV have the same handler.

The lawmaker said Duterte was "delusional".

GMA Integrated News also sought comments from Hontiveros and Trillanes.

Meanwhile, House Speaker Martin Romualdez on Thursday said, ''We have to look at whatever comes before us,'' when asked about Bayan's planned move against Duterte.

''We have nothing like that in the radar so we would have to look at whatever comes before us but I've not heard,'' Romualdez told Palace reporters when asked if Bayan's attempt would gain traction in the chamber.

In August, Duterte already alleged that some members of the House of Representatives are planning to file an impeachment complaint against her.
