Alice Guo transfer to Pasig City Jail likely on Monday — PNP

Former Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo is likely to be transferred on Monday to the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Guo's transfer from the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame to the Pasig City jail facility did not push through on Friday night, as the PNP had yet to complete documentary requirements for her transfer of custody, including her medical assessment.

"Most likely Monday po [ang transfer,] as per CIDG," PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo told GMA News Online, referring to the police's Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).

(Most likely the transfer will be on Monday, as per CIDG.)

Guo's camp hoped that she would remain in PNP custody due to security concerns, according to Darlene Cay's report on ''24 Oras Weekend.''

The dismissed mayor underwent booking procedures and medical examination at Camp Crame in line with the court order for her transfer.

Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) spokesperson Jail Chief Inspector Jayrex Joseph Bustinera said the PNP had advised that the transfer requirements have yet to be completed.

Bustinera assured that the BJMP was ready over "this weekend and anytime," as needed, to process the transfer.

The dismissed mayor, Bustinera said, will be sharing the detention facility with 44 inmates. The area, however, was designed to accommodate only nine detainees.

Guo's transfer was ordered by the Pasig City Regional Trial Court-Branch 167, which is hearing Guo's non-bailable case of qualified human trafficking.

On Friday, Guo posted bail of P540,000 for her graft charges pending before the Valenzuela City Regional Trial Court-Branch 282.

She remains detained, however, due to another case and contempt orders from the Senate and House of Representatives.

Guo's arraignment was supposed to be held on Friday, but it was postponed after her camp filed a motion to quash information. Both camps have until Wednesday, Sept. 25, to file a comment on the motion. — VDV/VBL, GMA Integrated News
