LOOK: Alice Guo's booking procedure at Camp Crame

Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo underwent booking procedure and medical examination in Camp Crame, following a court order for her to be transferred to the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory.

Guo's transfer from the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame to the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory did not push through on Friday night, as the PNP had yet to complete the documentary requirements for the transfer of custody, including medical assessment.



“According to [the] PNP, hindi lang po nakumpleto ang lahat ng requirements and nakastandby pa rin po ang BJMP this weekend and anytime kung kailan man po sasabihin nila na ililipat na nila,” said Jail Chief Inspector Jayrex Joseph Bustinera, spokesperson for the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).

(According to the PNP, they were unable to complete all the requirements, and the BJMP is on standby this weekend, and anytime once they are ready to transfer Guo.)

Bustinera also stated that Guo will be sharing the detention facility with 44 inmates. The area, however, was only designed to accommodate nine detainees.

Her transfer was ordered by the Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 167, which hears Guo's non-bailable case of qualified human trafficking.

Earlier on Friday, Guo posted bail of P540,000 for her graft charges pending before the Valenzuela City Regional Trial Court Branch 282.

Guo's arraignment was supposed to be held on Friday, but it was postponed after her camp filed a motion to quash information. Both camps have until Wednesday, September 25, to file a comment on the motion.

In a statement, Senator Risa Hontiveros on Saturday said the Pasig City RTC's order and the filing of the qualified human trafficking case against Guo was a "significant victory" for human trafficking victims.

"Panimula at malaking panalo ito ng mga biktima ng human trafficking na pilit na ipinagtrabaho sa POGO scam hub sa Bamban, Tarlac. Bilang may akda ng Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act, ikinagagalak ko na napapakinabangan ang batas na ito," she said.

(This is a start and a big win for the victims of human trafficking who were forced to work in the POGO scam hub in Bamban, Tarlac. As the author of the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act, I am glad that this law is being beneficial.)

Hontiveros also lauded the Department of Justice (DOJ), the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC), the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) and other law enforcement agencies for their efforts against POGO scam hubs and the filing of cases against Guo and other people involved.

"Guo Hua Ping, wala ka nang lusot (You have no more excuses). We will have at least one more hearing. Take that opportunity to finally tell the whole truth," Hontiveros said. — Jamil Santos/ VAL/ VDV, GMA Integrated News
