'NO EXTENSION'

Comelec reminds 5M delisted voters about reactivation deadline

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Saturday reminded delisted voters that they only have until the end of the month to process the reactivation of their registration.

"May nadisklubre kami ma meron tayong 5.37 million na hindi makakaboto dahil deactivated. Ano ibig sabihin niyan?

(We discovered that there are 5.37 million people who cannot vote because they are deactivated. What does that mean? They were not able to vote in two consecutive elections, in May of 2022 and this October of 2023 barangay and SK.)

Those who wish to apply for reactivation online may reach out through the official email address of the Offices of Election Officer nationwide, which is available on the official Comelec website.

(If you do not have the opportunity to go to the local offices, we have extended the online reactivation until September 25. Online reactivation can be done on our website.)

For those who will fail to reactivate online, meanwhile, can still go to local Comelec offices until the end of the month.

(They can go to our local Comelec offices and fill out the reactivation form.)

Previously, Comelec said more than 600,000 deactivated voters have already applied for reactivation for the 2025 national and local elections (NLE).

Meanwhile, the number of new registered voters for the 2025 national and local elections (NLE) has reached over 6.2 million, data from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) showed.  —VAL, GMA Integrated News
