Baste Duterte defends VP Sara, ex-president Duterte, amid allegations

Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte defended his father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, and sister, Vice President Sara Duterte, amid allegations being thrown at them in the House of Representatives. 

According to a ''24 Oras'' report on Friday, Baste said that his father's political opponents only want to tarnish his image. The mayor specifically slammed the House investigation into the alleged abuses in the former president's campaign against illegal drugs. 

Baste also defended the vice president against the criticisms of her office's use of its budget, including the confidential funds. He then challenged the congressmen to show how they spent public money. —Sherylin Untalan/VBL, GMA Integrated News
