Some 'angel of death' members have guns; Quiboloy camp denies

Some members of the alleged private army of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ Pastor Apollo Quiboloy or "angels of death" have weapons, based on the record of the Firearms and Explosives Office of the Philippine National Police (FEO-PNP).

“Some of the individuals in the list are licensed and others, walang record sa (others do not have a record under) Firearms and Explosives Office,” said PNP Civil Security Group (CSG) spokesman Lt. Col. Eudisan Gultiano in Jun Veneracion's report on 24 Oras.

Police earlier said that some alleged sex slaves of Quiboloy, who are minors, claimed that they are threatened with the “angels of death” if they tell anyone about the sexual abuses in the KOJC compound.

On Monday, the PNP said it has the names of the suspected members of the group but it has not yet determined what kind of firearms they possess.

It said that it would be based on the outcome of the investigation into the "angels of death" if any licenses should be revoked.

“Kasi nga merong imbestigasyon na kasama sila sa perpetrate ng mga criminal activities or mga crimes (because there is an investigation that they are involved in perpetrating criminal activities or crimes) involving firearms then it could be a ground for revocation na mga firearms license,” said Gultiano.

“We are not discounting the possibility that some or few of them might be in the uniformed services whether they’re active or retired,” said PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo.

Meanwhile, Qubiloy’s camp once again denied the existence of angels of death in the KOJC.

"...the claims regarding the so-called angels of death within the Kingdom of Jesus Christ are equally untrue and absolutely preposterous...They do not have angels of death, rather what they have are prayer warriors," said Quiboloy's lawyer, Israelito Torreon. —Sherylin Untalan/LDF, GMA Integrated News
