Marcos says he has cough, cold: It will not slow me down

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. admitted on Wednesday that he has cough and cold but stressed that his condition “will not slow me down.”

“I'm sorry I have picked up what everybody else seems to have, which is a cough and a cold. But it will not slow me down,” Marcos said after he blew his nose in the middle of his greetings to the guests of the event in Malacañang.

Marcos led the conferment of awards to the winners of the 2024 Search for Outstanding Government Workers at the Ceremonial Hall in the Palace.

On Tuesday, Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa clarified that Marcos Jr. is well and 'not under the weather.'

“From my perspective as a physician, the President performed all his duties today and is well and not under the weather as earlier surmised,” Herbosa said.

The Health chief issued the statement Tuesday afternoon after saying earlier in the day that Marcos is "just under the weather."

Herbosa was asked if anything was ailing the President after he was seen wearing a face mask during a sectoral meeting.

To this, Herbosa responded, "No, he’s just under the weather. So I supposed, it was his birthday last week, sa dami nang bumati sa kaniya, I’m sure someone passed him a bad bug." — Joviland Rita/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
