Comelec extends deadline for application for online reactivation of deactivated voters

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has extended the deadline for the online filing of the application for the reactivation of delisted voters for the 2025 national and local elections (NLE) to September 25, 2024.

On Monday, the Comelec en banc promulgated Resolution No. 10963-A, which moves the deadline for the application from September 7 to allow more deactivated voters to “conveniently reactivate their voter registration record without the hassle of physically going to the local Comelec office”.

Latest data from the poll body showed the number of deactivated voters for the 2025 May elections stood at 5,376,630 as of September 11.

Comelec deactivated voters who failed to vote in two successive preceding regular elections, by court order, loss of Filipino citizenship, and for having non-valid documents.

Delisted voters can apply for reactivation online as long as they have complete biometrics in the local Comelec office where they registered, according to the poll body.

The different types of application for reactivation which can be availed online are as follows:

  • Application for Reactivation;
  • Application for Reactivation with Transfer of Registration within or with Correction of Entries;
  • Application for Reactivation with Transfer of Registration within and with Correction of Entries; and
  • For Senior Citizens and Persons with Disability (PWDs), the Application for Reactivation with Updating of Records.

Those who want to apply for reactivation online may reach out through the official email address of the Offices of Election Officer nationwide which is available in the official Comelec website.

“We highly encourage all deactivated Filipino voters to take this opportunity and reactivate your voter registration record online until September 25, 2024,” the poll body said.

The Comelec said the total number of new voters for next year’s mid-term elections reached 6,131,834. There will be no extension for the September 30 deadline for the voter registration. —KG, GMA Integrated News
