Alice Guo leaves Camp Crame for Senate hearing

Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo on Tuesday morning left the PNP Custodial Center at Camp Crame in Quezon City to attend the Senate hearing on illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).

The convoy of Guo exited the detention facility around 7:51 a.m., according to GMA Integrated News’ James Agustin.

The dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor arrived at the Senate at around 08:24, according to GMA Integrated News' Mav Gonzales post on X.

Guo has been linked to the raided POGO hub in Bamban and is facing several complaints, including graft, money laundering, and human trafficking.

A Valenzuela court allowed Guo to attend the continuation of the Senate probe after Senator Risa Hontiveros requested Guo's physical appearance.

Hontiveros leads the investigation into illegal POGOs as the chairperson of the Senate committee on women, children, family relations, and gender equality.

Guo last attended a Senate hearing into illegal POGOs on September 9. For the second time, the Senate panel cited her in contempt for allegedly continuing to lie before the senators.

The dismissed mayor left the country in July despite a hold departure order from the Justice Department. She was apprehended in Indonesia and brought back to the Philippines on September 6.

She has been detained in the PNP Custodial Center.
