BI nab 4 Chinese in Parañaque POGO

Agents of the Bureau of Immigration have apprehended four Chinese fugitives allegedly involved in a raided scam hub in Paranaque City.

In a news release, the BI said its fugitive search unit (FSU) has detained the suspects aged 33, 32, 37, and 26 in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.

The foreigners were allegedly among those who were nabbed during a raid of an alleged cryptocurrency investment and love scam hub in Parañaque City.

It is also suspected to be posing as a legal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) firm last month. 

The BI said one of the suspects is wanted in Beijing for concealment of crime related to income while two of them are wanted for fraud.

Another is being sought for engaging in illegal business.

Meanwhile, the BI-FSU apprehended a 53-year-old Taiwanesefor being an undesirable alien. 

The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in the Philippines issued information he is facing an arrest warrant for rape filed before a court in Taiwan in 2005.

He was also found to be overstaying in the country for more than 20 years. —NB, GMA Integrated News
