4 Quiboloy co-accused to appeal Pasig jail transfer — lawyer

The four co-accused of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy are set to file a motion for reconsideration against their transfer to Pasig City Jail, one of their lawyers said Friday.

“On process, baka filed na ngayon (maybe it has already been filed now),” Quiboloy’s legal counsel Atty. Mark Tolentino told reporters in an interview.

“Sana ma-consider yung motion for reconsideration nila kasi we believe sa rules of court kapag may motion for reconsideration, it will stay the order of the court,” he added.

(I hope their motion for reconsideration can be considered because we believe in the rules of court when there is a motion for reconsideration, it will stay the order of the court.)

Since their arrest and arrival in Manila, Quiboloy and his co-accused have been detained at the PNP Custodial Center at Camp Crame in Quezon City.

But Pasig City Regional Trial Court 159 ordered the transfer of Quiboloy’s four co-accused to Pasig City Jail after their arraignment on Friday morning. Quiboloy would still be detained in Camp Crame.

They pleaded not guilty for qualified human trafficking charges.

KOJC legal counsel Atty. Israelito Torreon said the four accused include Jackielyn Roy, Cresente Canada, Ingrid Canada, and Sylvia Cemane.

Another co-accused Paulene Canada who was arrested in Davao City in July has been already detained in Pasig jail, he added.

Arrest warrants were issued against Quiboloy and others for alleged violation of the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act as well as qualified human trafficking.

Quiboloy has also been indicted by a federal grand jury in the US District Court for the Central District of California for conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion and sex trafficking of children; sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion; conspiracy; and bulk cash smuggling.
