2 ‘sex slaves’ willing to testify vs Quiboloy, Davao City Police chief says

Two of the five alleged sex slavery victims of Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy are willing to testify against him.

Two of the five alleged sex slavery victims of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy are willing to testify against him, Davao City Police said on Friday.

“Doon sa five, ang dalawa ang decided talaga na mag-testify. Yung tatlo nag-iisip pa,” Davao City Police chief Police Colonel Hansel Marantan told Super Radyo dzBB in an interview.

(Out of the five, the two are really decided to testify. The three are still thinking about it.)

“We cannot force them kasi by forcing them baka they might be reminded of Quiboloy ka pala e, fino-force mo kami,” he added.

(We cannot force them because by forcing them they might be reminded of Quiboloy's abuse.)

Marantan said they continue to communicate with the supposed victims with the help of some experts on their situation.

According to him, Quiboloy used these minors as his “sex slaves” as young as 12 years old. He added that each alleged victim was scheduled to have sex with Quiboloy based on the days of the week.

“At the average, 12 to 13 years old na nag-start sila as, well I call it sex slaves, sex slaves sila ni Quiboloy. Kasi grabe ang attraction ni Quiboloy sa mga minors na ito, that is why I called him a pedophile,” Marantan said.

(On average, 12 to 13 years old, they started as, well, I call it sex slaves; they were Quiboloy's sex slaves. Because Quiboloy's attraction to these minors is intense, that is why I called him a pedophile.)

Meanwhile, Marantan said that over 15 more minors need to be rescued inside the KOJC compound in Davao City.

“Sabi ko, 15. Meron akong listahan noong we were about to assault the Bible study building (I said there are 15. I have a list when we were about to assault a Bible school building),” Marantan said.

KOJC legal counsel Atty. Israelito Torreon told GMA News Online that these are still allegations and have yet to be investigated.

“Those are still in the realm of allegations which have yet to be investigated, hence, we appeal to the PNP NOT to subject the said new allegations to so much publicity,” he said in a message.

“After all, presumption of innocence is an important hallmark in our Bill of Rights, hence, we earnestly request the PNP to stick to that fundamental principle in our rule of law,” he added.

Innocent until proven guilty

Quiboloy's legal team also previously denied the allegations.

"Hindi magagawa yan ni Pastor Quiboloy. The accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt. And second accusation is not equivalent to guilt," said Atty. Mark Tolentino who is a member of Quiboloy's legal team.

"I'm sure planted lahat 'yun... manufactured yan," he added.

Quiboloy and his other co-accused are currently detained in the PNP Custodial Center at Camp Crame, Quezon City.

Arrest warrants were issued against Quiboloy and others for alleged violation of the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act as well as qualified human trafficking.

In an arraignment at a Pasig court on Friday morning, Quiboloy and others pleaded not guilty to qualified human trafficking charges.

Another arraignment is scheduled at a Quezon City court for their child abuse charges on Friday afternoon.

Quiboloy has also been indicted by a federal grand jury in the US District Court for the Central District of California for conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion and sex trafficking of children; sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion; conspiracy; and bulk cash smuggling.
