Wesley Guo wanted to surrender, but waited for advice from sister —NBI

NBI Director Jaime Santiago on Tuesday said that they were told Wesley Guo wanted to surrender but was waiting for advice from his sister.

National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Jaime Santiago on Tuesday said that they were told Wesley Guo, the supposed brother of dismissed Bamban mayor Alice Guo, wanted to surrender but was waiting for advice from his sister.

“Yun pong feeler na dumating sa amin, gusto na raw sumuko ni Wesley. Inaantay lang niya ang advise sa kanya ng ate niya. Eh nahuli na ang ate niya,” Santiago said during the Balitaan sa Harbor View.

(The feeler that came to us said that Wesley wants to surrender. He is just waiting for advice from his sister. But his sister has already been arrested.)

Santiago did not specify if he meant dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo or Shiela Guo.

“Na kay Wesley na ngayon ang bola kung susuko ba siya o he will continue to evade the arrest,” he added.

(It's now up to Wesley whether he will surrender or continue to evade arrest.)

The Senate ordered the arrest of Wesley Guo and others in July.

However, there is no pending criminal complaint or case against Wesley Guo in the Philippines.

Last week, Atty. Stephen David, Guo’s legal counsel, said they were already working on the supposed surrender.

Authorities earlier said that Wesley had attempted to fly to Hong Kong last week of August. The Bureau of Immigration said that Indonesian authorities have also been looking for Wesley.

So far, Indonesian authorities have arrested Alice Guo, Shiela Guo, and Cassandra Li Ong, the authorized representative of the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in Porac, Pampanga. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
