LIVE UPDATES: Alice Guo at Senate hearing

Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo was brought from the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame to the Senate on Monday morning to attend a hearing into illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO).

Guo has been linked to the raided POGO hub in Bamban and is facing several complaints, among which are graft, money laundering, and human trafficking.

The dismissed mayor last attended a Senate hearing into illegal POGOs in late May.

In July, the Senate ordered Guo and her other family members’ arrest for repeatedly failing to attend the upper chamber’s investigation into the raided POGO hub in her town.

She illegally left the country in July and was apprehended in Indonesia and brought back to the Philippines last week.

Guo has been held since at the PNP Custodial Center.
