SC: 10,483 aspiring lawyers take 2024 Bar exams


More than 10,000 aspiring lawyers took the 2024 Bar Examinations on  Sunday - the first day of the three-day exams, said the Supreme Court (SC).

In Mao dela Cruz’s Super Radyo dzBB report, SC Associate Justice and Bar  Chairperson Mario Lopez said of the 10,483 examinees this year, 5,234  were new applicants; 4,060 were previous takers; and 1,189 were refreshers.

Last July, the SC said it received 12,246 applications for this year’s Bar Examinations. 

Lopez also said the oldest 2024 Bar examinee was 78 years old while the youngest was 23 years old.

This year’s Bar takers were a diverse group, with 6,108  female and 4,375 male examinees.

Lopez added that 155 senior citizens and 313 persons with special needs took this year’s Bar exams.  

The Bar chairperson said the results of the 2024 Bar exams would be released by December.  

The oath-taking and signing into the Role of Attorneys would be on January 24, 2025.

This year’s Bar takers will continue to take the exams on September 11 and 15.

They are taking the examinations in the following local testing centers.
