Alice Guo held in non-aircon room for 'ordinary' PNP detainees

Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo has been detained in a non-airconditioned room at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), GMA Integrated News reporter Mariz Umali on Friday shared images of Guo's detention room from the PNP.

Described as "ordinary" quarters, the white-walled room has a single bed with a metal frame, a small round table, monoblock chairs, and a plastic bucket with a dipper in the toilet.

According to Umali, this is the same detention room where former senator Leila de Lima was held.

Earlier Friday, Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos assured the public that there would be no special treatment for Guo.

"Right now may mugshot siya, nakakulong po siya ngayon sa kulungan, no cellphone, no aircon, just like an ordinary detainee," Abalos said.
