Shiela Guo confirms meeting Alice's supposed parents in Singapore

Shiela Guo, the supposed sister of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo confirmed at a Senate hearing on Thursday that they have met with the former mayor's supposed mother, Wen Yi Lin and supposed father, Guo Jian Zhong in Singapore after they left the Philippines via boats.

It was Senator Risa Hontiveros who earlier disclosed what she called a "reunion" of the Guos in Singapore in her privilege speech last August 19.

Shiela confirmed it during the interpellation of Senator Sherwin Gatchalian who was inquiring about the whereabouts of Alice Guo's supposed parents.

"Nasaan ngayon si Guo Jian Zhong?" Gatchalian asked, to which Shiela responded, "Baka sa China. 'Di ko sure."

"Di kayo nagkita sa singapore?" the senator asked again.

"Nagkita," Shiela responded.

Shiela also answered in the affirmative when Gatchalian asked if Wen Yi Lin was also in Singapore.

"'Yun ba 'yung time na nagkita-kita kayo, I think it was July 18, tama ba? Nagreunion kayo sa Singapore?" Gatchalian asked to which Shiela responded in the affirmative.

(Was that the time when you met in Singapore on July 18? You had a reunion in Singapore?)

"Uwi na sila sabi pero 'di ko alam kung saan sila uwi," Shiela added when asked where Alice Guo's supposed parents went after their "reunion" in Singapore.

(They said they will go home already but they did not specify where.)

Alice, Shiela, Wen Yi Lin, Guo Jian Zhong, together with the former mayor's supposed brothers, Wesley and Seimen, were all ordered arrested by the Senate after they failed to appear in the chamber's investigation into the raided POGO hub in Bamban, Tarlac.

Shiela earlier disclosed that she, along with her supposed siblings, Alice and Wesley left the Philippines via several boat rides.

According to Shiela, they stayed in Malaysia for four to five days where they met Cassandra Li Ong, the girlfriend of Wesley and the named authorized representative of Lucky South 99 —a POGO hub that was raided in Porac, Pampanga.

After going to Malaysia, Shiela said they flew to Singapore.

It is unclear how long they stayed in Singapore but Shiela said she boarded a ferry to Batam, Indonesia together with Alice and Ong.

Shiela is already under the Senate's custody while Ong is detained at the House of Representatives after being arrested in Batam, Indonesia last August 22.

Meanwhile, Alice Guo was arrested in Indonesia on Wednesday morning and is expected to be brought back to the Philippines on Thursday evening. She has refused the allegations against her, including her alleged involvement in the operations of a POGO hub in Bamban, Tarlac.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
