CAAP reiterates mandatory terminal screening for air passengers
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines reiterated on Thursday that air passengers, including those boarding private planes, must undergo security checks at designated terminals.
According to the CAAP, all area center managers and airport managers were instructed to ensure all departing and arriving passengers meet the necessary documentary and security requirements at CAAP-operated airports, with the exception of military flights under Memorandum Circular 005-2023.
The memorandum circular was issued in February 2023 after Senator Raffy Tulfo called for the strengthening of security and prevention of illegal activities through screening of all passengers.
“The policy underscores CAAP’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of aviation security,” the statement read. — Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
