Alice Guo turned over to PH officials in Indonesia

Alice Guo turned over to PH officials in Indonesia

Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo was turned over to Philippine officials by Indonesian authorities in Jakarta on Thursday afternoon.

Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos and Philippine National Police chief Police General Rommel Marbil personally accepted Guo.

Guo’s name was listed on the immigration lookout bulletin following the investigation into her true identity as a supposed Chinese national and her link to illegal activities of a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) in Bamban.

Moments before the turnover, Abalos told reporters that a deportation proceeding and negotiation have been done with Indonesian authorities for the turnover of Guo.

“Natapos na ang aming pag-uusap sa mga opisyales ng Indonesia. Of course, sa kanilang mga kapulisan, mag generals. Siyempre, 'yung mga dapat pag-usapan, napag-usapan na namin,” Abalos said.

(Our talks with the Indonesian officials have ended. Of course, with their police forces, generals. Of course, we have discussed the things that should be discussed.)

“Kukunin natin si Alice. Inaayos ang papeles at iuuwi na natin siya sa Pilipinas (We'll get Alice. The papers are being processed and we will bring her back to the Philippines),” he added.

Upon entering the room, Guo reached out and shook the hand of Abalos saying, "Hi [Secretary].”

She was wearing a black and white striped shirt, long black skirt, black face mask, and eyeglasses, and was carrying a brown bag.

According to Abalos, their flight with Guo to the Philippines could be around 6 p.m. or earlier.

In an advisory, the DILG said Abalos, Marbil, and Guo will arrive in the country around 8:30 p.m.

PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo said once Guo arrives in the Philippines, she will be transported to Camp Crame for a medical check up.

Afterwards, she will be turned over to the Senate as the Upper Chamber has an existing arrest order on her, according to Fajardo.

“Ang plano po kapag nai-turnover na sa kanila si Alice Guo ay dadalhin po rito sa Camp Crame para mag-undergo po ng medical examination para tingnan po and siguraduhing nasa maayos po siyang kalagayan bago po siya i-turnover sa Senate dahil may existing  warrant po sa kaniya ang Senate,” Fajardo said in a press briefing in the Philippines.

(The plan is that when Alice Guo is turned over to them, she will be brought here to Camp Crame to undergo a medical examination to make sure that she is in good physical condition before she is turned over to the Senate because there is an existing warrant from the Senate against her.)
