Gov’t has P65.6 billion standby fund for Enteng aid -Marcos
The government had P65.6 billion in standby funds that could support relief efforts following the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Enteng, said President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Tuesday.
The Chief Executive added that the government had prepared P2.6 billion in food and non-food items and P480.61 million in health logistics for medical services.
Marcos said that 63,000 individuals found shelter in 452 evacuation centers.
The President also called on local government units to address waste management in their localities in the aftermath of the tropical cyclone.
“Tinatawagan ko ang ating mga LGU na agad na tugunan ang waste management issue na maiiwan ng bagyo. Ang ating mga katuwang sa DPWH ay nasa ating mga komunidad para umpisahan na ang clearing operations ng mga apektadong national roads,” said Marcos in a statement.
(I’m calling all our LGUs to address the waste management issues following the tropical cyclone. People from the DPWH were in the communities to start the clearing operations on affected national roads.)
“Higit 1,700 na kagamitan ang naka-preposition sa ating mga rehiyon para siguruhing madadaanan ang ating mga lansangan. Binabalik na rin ang kuryente, at available din ang emergency communications equipment at higit 2,000 search, rescue, and retrieval assets kung kakailanganin,” Marcos also said in a statement.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development said that over P16 million in humanitarian assistance had been provided to over 300,000 individuals in eight provinces affected by Enteng. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
