Senate concurs with ratification of 4 int'l treaties


The Senate on Tuesday approved on third and final reading the resolutions concurring with the ratification of four treaties.

The chamber unanimously approved the resolution concurring in the ratification of the International Labour Organization Convention No. 81 or the Convention Concerning Labour Inspection in Industry and Commerce.

The senators also voted in favor of the concurrence with the ratification of the treaty between the governments of the Philippines and Canada on the transfer of sentenced persons and on cooperation in the enforcement of penal sentences.

Also approved by the chamber were the resolution concurring in the ratification of the Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters and the resolution concurring in the ratification of the Host Country Agreement Between the Philippine Government and the International Fund for Agricultural Development on the Establishment of IFAD's Country Office.

All the resolutions garnered 20 affirmative votes, zero negative votes, and zero abstention.—RF, GMA Integrated News
