CAAP: No reported airport damage due to Enteng
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) on Tuesday said that there has been no reported damage in any of the country's airports despite the bad weather due to Tropical Storm Enteng.
"Airports operated by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) remain operational and have reported no damage amid the onslaught of Typhoon Enteng in the country," CAAP said in a statement.
CAAP, however, said that some flights have been cancelled because of Enteng.
"The CAAP Operations Center recorded 38 domestic flight cancellations at various airports due to inclement weather caused by Typhoon Enteng yesterday," said CAAP.
"Passengers are advised to confirm their flight schedules with their respective airlines and arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to their scheduled departure," it added.
CAAP also reiterated their memorandum prohibiting aircrafts with a maximum certificated takeoff weight of 5,700 kg or less to take off under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal number 1.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 was raised over two areas in Luzon on Tuesday morning as Tropical Storm Enteng re-intensified while moving over the West Philippine Sea, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.
There were also 38 recorded domestic flight cancellations nationwide due to inclement weather on Monday.
“Passengers are advised to confirm their flight schedules with their respective airlines and arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to their scheduled departure,” the statement read. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
