Marcos wants early bulletins on class, work suspensions

President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. on Monday said he instructed concerned government agencies to ensure that early advisories would be given as to the suspension of classes and work due to bad weather.

In an interview with Palace reporters, Marcos said he wants the public to know if work and classes would be cancelled the following day before they go to sleep at night so they could make the necessary adjustments.

''We will try to give the bulletin as early as possible for work and school tomorrow. Ang instruction ko sa kanila kung maaari bago tayo matulog alam na natin kung may pasok bukas o hindi para makapag-adjust naman 'yung mga tao,'' Marcos said.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on Monday said government work in the National Capital Region (NCR) was suspended effective 8:30 a.m. Classes in public and private schools in the region have also been cancelled due to Tropical Storm Enteng (international name: Yagi).

Some affected local government units (LGUs) outside the NCR have also suspended government work and classes.

Marcos ensured that concerned offices have been monitoring the weather situation, especially the floods in affected areas. —KBK, GMA Integrated News
