Marcos cites 250th Presidential Airlift Wing's role in disaster response ops
President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. on Monday highlighted the service being given by the 250th Presidential Airlift Wing in support of humanitarian aid and disaster response missions.
In his speech during the wing's 56th founding anniversary, Marcos stressed that the group not only caters to the transit of the First Family but also during times of disasters.
''You enable me and the Cabinet members to fly around our country in support of humanitarian assistance and disaster response missions,'' Marcos said.
''This, you are doing despite the danger in the air and the disaster that we might meet on land. Through your service, we have been able to assess the surroundings, be with our people, and help our fellow men and women in the fastest and safest way possible,'' he added.
''Like the journey of our nation, there will be times of turbulence—moments when the path seems uncertain, and the horizon is not clear. Through it all, we put our trust in you and in each other, to reliably weather any storm, like this one that we are weathering now.''
Marcos said the men and women of the 250th Presidential Airlift Wing carry not just the presidency ''but the hope of every Filipino in Bagong Pilipinas.''
The President guaranteed that their efforts in times of crisis do not go unnoticed. He vowed that his administration would continue to ensure that the health, well-being and wellness of the personnel of the wing are being taken care of so that they may continue to carry out their duties.
The 250th Presidential Airlift Wing, also called as the ''Bluebirds,'' is one of the premier flying units of the Philippine Air Force that is mandated to provide air transport for the President, the immediate members of the Chief Executive’s family, visiting Heads of States, and other local and foreign VIPs. —KBK, GMA Integrated News
