Some courts suspend work on Sept. 2 due to Enteng


Various courts nationwide suspended operations on Monday, September 2, due to inclement weather brought by Tropical Storm Enteng (international name: Yagi).

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Supreme Court (SC) announced that Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo suspended work in the different offices of the High Court as of 9 a.m.

This is subject to the condition that a skeleton force will be provided, according to the SC.

Meanwhile, the SC said that the Court of Appeals in Manila and the Sandiganbayan also suspended work.

Aside from this, the following courts also suspended work:

  • Las Piñas City - all courts
  • Muntinlupa City - all courts
  • Naga City - Regional Trial Court (RTC) and all courts within its administrative supervision
  • Dasmariñas, Cavite - all Municipal Trial Courts in Cities (MTCC), RTCs, and Offices of the Clerk of Court (OCC)
  • Imus, Cavite - RTC
  • Kawit, Cavite - Municipal Trial Court (MTC)
  • San Mateo and Rodriguez, Rizal - All courts
  • Tanauan City, Batangas - All courts
  • Binangonan, Rizal - RTC
  • Agono and Cardona, Rizal - All MTCs
  • Makati City - RTC
  • San Pablo City, Laguna - MTCC
  • Batangas City - RTC, MTCC, and all courts under the Batangas RTC
  • Mandaluyong City - RTC and Metropotal Trial Courts (MeTC)
  • Manila City - RTC, OCC, and Ex-Officio Sheriff

 

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 was raised on Monday morning over nine areas in Luzon as Enteng was forecast to bring rains and gale-force winds.

    Malacañang earlier announced that government work and classes in public and private schools are suspended in all levels in the National Capital Region.

    Meanwhile, the Marikina City Government has raised the second alarm as the water level of the Marikina River rose to 16 meters at 8:32 a.m. Second alarm means residents are advised to evacuate. —Joahna Lei Casilao/KG, GMA Integrated News
