Over 2,400 stranded at sea ports due to Enteng —PCG

More than 2,400 people were stranded as  as Tropical Storm Enteng affected the operations of different ports in the country on Monday, according to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

In an advisory, the PCG said that from 12:00 a.m. to 4 a.m., a total of 2,413 passengers, truck drivers, and cargo helpers were stranded in Southern Tagalog, Bicol, and Eastern Visayas.

Most of the stranded people were reported in Eastern Visayas with 1,638, followed by Bicol with 750, and Southern Tagalog with 25.

Thirty-nine vessels, 610 rolling cargoes, and four motorbancas were also stranded, while 15 vessels and 28 motorbancas were taking shelter in other ports.

Classes have been suspended in some Luzon and Visayas areas due to Enteng.

As of 4 a.m. on Monday, Enteng (international name: Yagi) was located over the coastal waters of Vinzons, Camarines Norte, according to state weather bureau PAGASA's bulletin.

The storm was packing maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 90 km/h, and central pressure of 998 hPa.
