Marcos commits fostering deeper ties with Cambodia
The Philippine government has committed to deepening bilateral relations with Cambodia as it continues to foster ties with allied states around the world.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. made the assurance during the courtesy call of Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister Sok Chenda Sophea on Tuesday.
“I hope we can continue this. We will foster this relationship and continue to improve the relationship that we have had for many, many years,” Marcos said.
Sok Chenda Sophea is in the Philippines to co-chair the 4th meeting of the Cambodia-Philippines Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation in the Philippines at the invitation of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
This meeting aims to assess the progress madein enforcing the deals reached by the two nations during the 3rd meeting of the Cambodia-Philippines JCBC in December 2021.
The Philippines and Cambodia maintained cordial ties since the resumption of their diplomatic relations in 1995. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
