Shiela Guo: Cassandra Li Ong is Wesley Guo's GF

Cassandra Li Ong, the named authorized representative of the raided POGO firm in Porac, Pampanga, is the girlfriend of Wesley Guo, according to Guo's supposed sister, Shiela.

This was disclosed by dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo and Wesley's supposed sister, Shiela Guo at a Senate inquiry into the Guo siblings' escape from the Philippines during Senator Sherwin Gatchalian's questioning.

"Mukhang girlfriend niya (Wesley) ata. Siguro girlfriend," Shiela said.

(It appears she is [Wesley’s] girlfriend. Maybe his girlfriend.)

Gatchalian pressed Shiela to confirm the information and asked "Inamin ni Wesley sa'yo na girlfriend niya si..."

(Wesley admitted to you that his girlfriend is…)

"Cassie," Shiela said. "Pero hindi pa ko nakita."

(It was Cassie. But I have not yet seen them.)

Shiela said she has no knowledge how long Shiela and Wesley's relationship has been.

When asked if Wesley was involved in the operations of the raided POGO in Porac, Shiela said she doesn't know because they don't talk about work.

"Hindi kami kwento kung sa trabaho, wala. Kaya di ko alam," she said.

(We don’t talk about work, none. That’s why I don’t know.)

During the early part of the hearing, Shiela said she only met Ong in Malaysia after they departed from the Philippines via several boat rides.

However, Gatchalian pointed out that there were travel records that would refute Shiela's testimony.

"Nasabi mo kanina na si Cassandra na-meet mo lang sa Malaysia, tama?" Gatchalian asked. Shiela responded by nodding her head.

(You earlier said that you only met Cassandra in Malaysia, correct?)

"Pero meron kaming nakuha na flight details nung February 11,2024. Shiela Guo, Alice Guo, Wesley Guo, Katherine Cassandra Li Ong, and Warren Yu magkasama sa flight. So hindi first time na nagkakilala sa Malaysia...Pumunta kayo ng Taipei," the senator pointed out.

(But we were able to obtain flight details dated February 11, 2024. Shiela Guo, Alice Guo, Wesley Guo, Katherine Cassandra Li Ong, and Warren Yu were together in the same flight. So this is not the first time you met each other in Malaysia...You even went to Taipei.

Shiela answered in the affirmative, but explained that she only saw Ong but she didn't know her.

"Yun kasi, kita ko siya pero hindi kami kakilala. Pangalan lang ang alam [ko]. Sabay kami pero hindi kami kasama," she said.

(The thing is, I saw her but we did not know each other. I only knew her name. We were together on the flight but we were not together.)

But Guo’s answer did not convince Gatchalian.

"Pero magkasabay kayo sa flight tapos girlfriend niya si Cassandra. Paanong ‘di kayo magkasama eh three days kayo [doon]...Hindi first time kayo magkakilala," Gatchalian said.

(But you were together on the same flight and Cassandra was his girlfriend. How can it be you were not together but you stayed there for three days… This is not the first time you met one another.)

(I might have forgotten.)

(That’s what Alice Guo said to us too, that she forgot. Your lines are similar to Alice Guo.)

According to Shiela, they went to Taipei to travel.

Meanwhile, Shiela told the Senate panel that Alice and their other family members were not talking to her about POGOs.

The businesses that they only discussed involved piggery and embroidery.

Ong and Shiela were intercepted by Indonesian authorities and were brought back to the Philippines on August 22.

Shiela is currently detained at the Senate while Ong was in the custody of the House of Representative.

At the early part of the Senate hearing, Shiela confirmed that she, along with her supposed siblings, Alice and Wesley, left the Philippines via several boat rides.

Shiela mentioned a Chinese term for the place that they went to in Malaysia, which Senator Risa Hontiveros said could be the Chinese name for the Sipadan Island in Sabah, Malaysia.

An immigration stamp dated July 18 was affixed on Shiela's Philippine passport.

According to Shiela, they stayed in Malaysia for four to five days before flying to Singapore.

It is unclear how long they stayed in Singapore but Shiela said she boarded a ferry to Batam, Indonesia together with Alice and Ong.

According to Shiela, they proceeded to Batam because Wesley was "bored."

"Kasi ang sabi ni Wesley boring daw siya. Wala siya ginagawa, tapos gusto niya pasyalan ganoon. Kaya nauna siya doon sa Batam tapos sunod kami,' she said.

(Wesley said he was bored. He wasn’t doing anything, he wanted to go around. So he went first to Batam and we followed afterwards.)

Senator Risa Hontiveros earlier disclosed that a Singaporean national, Zhang Jie, allegedly booked four rooms at the Harris Hotel Batam Center. The said person is supposedly the former president of Lucky South 99, the raided POGO firm in Porac, Pampanga.

When they arrived in Indonesia, Shiela said she parted ways with Alice. That was around August 19 or 20.

"'Yung huli, hiwalay kami. Last sa Indonesia, hiwalay na po kami," Shiela said, adding that she was not informed by Alice about her destination.

"Wala siyang sinabi...Sabi niya lang niya sa akin 'Hiwalay lang muna [si] ate.' Tapos tanong ko siya, 'Saan siya punta?' Sabi niya sa akin huwag daw ako alamin," she went on.

(The last time we were together, we separated in Indonesia. She didn’t say anything… She just told me, “Big Sister is going somewhere else." I asked her where she was headed. She said I should not ask.)

At that time, Shiela said Wesley has also left Batam, Indonesia.

According to Shiela, she is not aware of Alice's whereabouts, but the BI chief said he received reports on August 26 that the former Bamban mayor is in the capital city of Jakarta.—RF, GMA Integrated News
