Harry Roque, KOJC supporters ask Marcos to resign

Former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque and Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) supporters on Monday called on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to resign from public office.

At the indignation rally at Liwasang Bonifacio which was aired live on Roque’s Facebook page, protestors could be seen holding up placards that read “Marcos resign” or “BBM resign” while others were holding up Philippine flags.

Other signs, meanwhile, called for “justice for KOJC.”

“Naririto po kami na naninindigan na ang dapat mamuno ng Pilipinas ay dapat nasa tamang pag iisip. Dahil kapag ikaw ay bangag, kakaladkarin mo sa gera ang iyong bansa,” Roque said in his speech.

(We firmly believe that the one who should lead the Philippines must be in the right mindset. Because if you're high, you'll drag your country into war.)

Roque’s pronouncements were followed with cheers of “BBM resign” and “bangag” from other protestors.

GMA News Online has sought comment from Malacañang but has yet to receive a response as of posting time.

Meanwhile, the protestors said that they would not leave even if it would rain. They also chanted that they were not paid.

On Sunday evening, KOJC members also trooped to the airport road in Davao City to protest the presence of the police, who have been scouring the premises with an arrest warrant for KOJC Leader Apollo Quiboloy.

The police entered the compound on the morning of Saturday, August 24, to arrest Quiboloy. He has not yet been found.

The Police Regional Office 11 said its units will not leave until the pastor is arrested.

Quiboloy is facing charges under Section 5(b) of Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act and under Section 10(a) of the same act before a Quezon City court.

He is also facing a non-bailable Qualified Human Trafficking charge under Section 4(a) of Republic Act No. 9208, as amended before a Pasig court.

Meanwhile, a P10 million reward is also being offered for information that will lead to his arrest.
