Bersamin on hunt for Quiboloy: Law must take its course

“The law must take its course.”

This was the response of Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on the operation against Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder Apollo Quiboloy.

Reporters asked Bersamin for comment regarding allegations that the hunt for Quiboloy, the fugitive pastor, was supposedly politically motivated.

Bersamin stressed that there is a process for this matter.

''He is answerable to the law, the law must take its course. Meron namang process diyan (There is a process),'' Bersamin said.

Bersamin, meanwhile, refused to comment when asked about Vice President Sara Duterte's apology to KOJC members for encouraging them to vote for President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. in the 2022 elections.

Earlier, operatives from the Police Regional Office. 11 said their units would not leave KOJC compound until Quiboloy was found and arrested.

Quiboloy is wanted for his alleged violation of Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act, and Republic Act No. 9208, or the Qualified Human Trafficking. — RSJ/KBK, GMA Integrated News
