DOJ: Sheila Guo, Cassandra Li Ong facing complaints
The companions of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo are facing criminal complaints after they were taken into custody in Indonesia and sent back to the Philippines, Department of Justice spokesman Atty. Mico Clavano said on Thursday.
According to Nimfa Ravelo’s report on Super Radyo dzBb, Clavano said that a complaint for violation of the Immigration Law will be filed against Sheila Guo, the dismissed mayor's sister.
Clavano said several complaints will be filed against Cassandra Li Ong, the authorized representative of the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) that was raided in Porac, Pampanga.
The raps include obstruction of justice and the violation of the Passport Act.
Guo and Ong landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 late Thursday afternoon. They were earlier intercepted in Batam, Indonesia.
Clavano said that they would first be brought to the Bureau of Immigration (BI) before being turned over to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
The two were scheduled to go through a medical examination and inquest at the BI main office.
Clavano said Guo would remain under the custody of the BI while Ong would be turned over to the NBI.
He said that Ong would undergo inquest proceedings over the weekend.
Clavano said that the DOJ, NBI, Philippine National Police, the Sergeant-at-Arms of the Senate, and the House of Representatives have been coordinating as regards the custody of both Guo and Ong.
Guo's sister, Sheila, is among the personalities ordered arrested by the Senate last July.
Meanwhile, the House of Representatives has issued an order to take custody of Ong as she had been slapped with a contempt order for her continued failure to attend the investigation of POGO-related crimes.
Earlier, Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission spokesman Dr. Winston Casio said the PAOCC believes that Guo is still in Indonesia.
Her brother, Wesley Guo, meanwhile is already in another country. —NB, GMA Integrated News
