Alice Guo spotted in Kuala Lumpur airport on July 21 — PAOCC
Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo was spotted at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport on July 21, according to the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC).
Based on a photo exclusively provided by PAOCC to GMA Integrated News on Thursday, a woman identified as Guo is seen standing with an unnamed female companion. Guo is dressed in black, wore sunglasses, and carried several bags with a suitcase in tow.
"Ang larawang ito ay puwedeng magpatunay na si… Mayor Alice Guo ay wala dito sa ating bansa nu'ng mga panahon na 'yon," PAOCC Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz said.
(This photo can prove that Mayor Alice Guo was not here during this time.)
The image was taken before Guo's flight to Singapore, the PAOCC said.
PAOCC spokesperson Dr. Winston Casio said the photo was taken by a concerned citizen.
Asked how authorities are sure that woman was Guo, Casio said the source of the picture said they were willing to attest to its veracity.
“Pinatotohanan po ng ating source na ‘yun ay si Alice Leal Guo, 'no? Na siya ay willing na patotohanan na ‘yung dokumentong ‘yun, na ‘yung litrato na ‘yun ay si Alice Leal Guo at nakasabay po niya doon sa airport nung mga panahon na ‘yon,” he said in a Zoom briefing.
(Our source attests that the woman in the photo is Alice Leal Guo. Our source is willing to confirm it. They were together at the airport that time.)
Casio said the photo also matches Immigration records showing that Guo’s passport entered Kuala Lumpur on July 18.
“Nagtutugma kasi ‘yung mga timeline nung pictures at saka ‘yung Immigration records na nakuha natin doon sa Immigration Bureau nitong Malaysia,” he said.
(The timelines match with the pictures and the Immigration records that we got from the Immigration Bureau of Malaysia.)
Earlier in the day, Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos said Indonesian authorities arrested two of Guo's companions, namely Cassandra Li Ong and the former mayor's sister Sheila Guo.
They are expected to be brought back to the Philippines.
Last Tuesday, the Bureau of Immigration confirmed that Guo, also identified as Chinese citizen Guo Hua Ping, is in Indonesia amid the complaints filed against her, including for alleged human trafficking.
Government agencies have reported that Guo already left the Philippines for Malaysia as early as July 18.
Guo's lawyer Stephen David previously said that his client told him that she was still in the Philippines. The lawyer, however, admitted that he cannot confirm the information and has no idea where she was exactly. — VDV/KBK, GMA Integrated News
