PNP to work via diplomatic channels to bring Alice Guo back to PH
The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday said it has to work through diplomatic channels to bring dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo back to the country.
“If there is any efforts po on the part of the PNP na maibibigay pa po namin, then the PNP is willing,” PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo said in a press briefing.
(If there is any effort on the part of the PNP that we can provide, then the PNP is willing.)
“But since, kung totoo man po, na nakalabas na po siya ng bansa, then we have to go through the diplomatic channel to address the possibility of bringing her back dito sa atin,” she added.
(But since, if it is true, she has already left the country, then we have to go through the diplomatic channel to address the possibility of bringing her back to the Philippines.)
Fajardo said the PNP will coordinate with police attachés in concerned countries where Guo was reportedly located.
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Tuesday confirmed that Guo is currently in Indonesia amid the complaints filed against her including human trafficking.
Guo’s name was listed on the immigration lookout bulletin (ILBO) following the investigation into her true identity and her link to the illegal activities of a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) firm in her town.
Fajardo said there are criminal and administrative liabilities if some people assisted her exit from the Philippines.
Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco, citing intelligence information, said Guo slipped out of the country without passing through Philippine immigration authorities.
According to the Immigration, Guo may be deported to the Philippines should her travel documents be canceled.
"Kung makakansenla ang kaniyang travel documents and the person will be repatriated, ibabalik siya sa Pilipinas kung wala na siyang valid travel documents. We're continuously monitoring 'yung movements niya out of the country," she said.

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla on Tuesday warned BI personnel who may have had a hand in the “escape” of Guo to come out and tell the truth or “heads will roll.” —KG, GMA Integrated News
