Sandro Muhlach, NBI file complaint vs 2 independent contractors

Actor Sandro Muhlach and the National Bureau of Investigation on Monday filed a complaint against two independent contractors for alleged sexual assault.

According to John Consulta's report on Super Radyo dzBB, Muhlach, as private complainant, and the NBI Public Corruption Division filed a complaint for rape through sexual assault against the two independent contractors of GMA Network.

Muhlach and his father, former child actor Niño Muhlach, together with the NBI, went to the Department of Justice (DOJ) in Manila where the younger actor personally swore before prosecutors.

Atty. Czarina Raz, Muhlach's lawyer, reportedly said they are confident with the complaint as they have strong evidence.

For his part, Muhlach said that the truth will come out.

Meanwhile, Niño extended his gratitude to those who supported his son.

"Parang nakaluwang-luwang na sa dibdib dahil umabot na tayo sa araw na ito. Ang bigat kasi nakikita mo 'yung anak mo araw-araw na nag-susuffer. Hindi makakain, hindi makatulog," he said.

(It's a relief because we reached this point. It's a very heavy feeling to watch your child suffer. He can't eat, can't sleep.)

"Salamat sa lahat ng nagsuporta kay Sandro (thank you to everyone who supported Sandro)," he added.

GMA News Online has sought comment from the respondents' camp but has yet to receive a response as of posting time.

Last week, independent contractors Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz attended the resumption of a Senate inquiry and denied that they sexually assaulted Muhlach.

They also appealed to the public not to "crucify them like convicted criminals."

Meanwhile, Muhlach also filed a formal complaint against Nones and Cruz before the human resources of GMA Network, prompting it to conduct its own investigation.

GMA Network Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes said GMA has suspended the two independent contracts while the probe is ongoing.

Gozon-Valdez also stressed that GMA does not condone sexual abuse. —KG, GMA Integrated News
