'Hindi ako perpektong ina': Carlos Yulo's mom says sorry, appeals for reconciliation
Angelica Yulo on Wednesday apologized to her two-time Olympic gold medalist son, Carlos Yulo, after breaking her silence about their rift, which drew attention online.
(I am not a perfect mother and God knows you are not a perfect son, and there's no perfect family. A mother only wants the best for her children.)
While admitting that her approach was "rude," Angelica said her intention with was pure.

(I am a mother who was hurt because the kind son I raised well and who is a good person no longer listens to the guidance of his parents.)
Angelica also apologized for her issues with Carlos’ girlfriend, Chloe San Jose.
(If my criticism of your girlfriend was wrong, I do apologize because I'm just a mother who worries.)
“Humihingi ako ng patawad sa iyo at sa sambayanan sa mga nasabi ko sa interview,” Angelica said in her message to Carlos.
(I apologize to you and the people for what I said in an interview.)
Patawad, anak,” she continued.
(I was tired and could not sleep while watching you during those times. I can't sleep with joy even after your fight is over. I was not able to think clearly when I was bombarded with questions by reporters about something we should have fixed as alone. I’m sorry, son.)
Reconciliation
Admitting her mistakes, Angelica said other people need not be informed about the issues of their family, as they do not know the “whole” story nor understand it fully.
She said she was speaking to finally settle their issue, and was open for a “personal conversation without anger.”
Following this, Angelica appealed to Carlos for reconciliation between them, and within their family.
(You are ole enough to decide for yourself. The door of our home is open, whether you have money or not, if you wish to come back to us.)
(For the public. I hope we just celebrate my son's success. My son made history for our country. Let us all thank Caloy for the honor he will bring for our country.)
In breaking her silence previously, Angelica said the accusations about mismanagement of finances had hurt her and claimed that she had evidence to prove them false.
Yulo on Tuesday broke his silence and addressed the rift between him and his mother Angelica in a lengthy TikTok video posted just days after his double gold medal feat at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
In a lengthy TikTok video, Carlos said “six-digit” incentives from winning two medals in the World Championships in November 2022 in the UK went into a bank account of his that his mother managed.
He did not know it was received until he asked about it when he flew back to the Philippines in December of the same year.
Carlos said he's not really after the incentive but stressed that he just wants to know where it all went.
Carlos also defended his relationship with his partner from what he believed to be judgment from his mother.
