PNP: Bong Go’s security detail returned after refresher training

The Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Tuesday that Senator Bong Go's security detail was returned to him after they were recalled to undergo refresher training.

Go said earlier that his security detail was taken away even before 75 police officers were withdrawn from Vice President Sara Duterte's security team.

The senator said he was concerned over the loss of his security team as there were threats and risks in his life as a senator.

In a press conference, PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo said the Police Security and Protection Group recalled all protective security personnel as an issue surfaced where cops were caught moonlighting.

“Nung ni-recall, pinasailalim sila sa mga refesher  training with respect doon sa pag pro-provide ng security. After nila  matapos itong refresher training, binalik din po ito sa mga authorized  individual, including kay Senator Bong Go,” Fajardo told the media.

(When they were recalled, they underwent refresher training in providing  security. After they finished the training, they were returned to the  authorized individuals, including Senator Bong Go.)

In May, two  Special Action Force police officers, supposedly deployed to Zamboanga,  were found to be working as bodyguards for a Chinese citizen living inside an exclusive residential village in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. 

PNP Chief Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil had issued a directive reminding officers to focus on public safety and not provide services to private individuals. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
