Disobedience to summons case vs Alice Guo a 'test case' -Escudero
The disobedience to summons case mulled against suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo would be a good test case, Senate President Francis "Chiz" Escudero said on Tuesday.
Senator Sherwin Gatchalian had suggested the Senate file a case against Guo for violating Article 150 of the Revised Penal Code or Disobedience to Summons Issued by the National Assembly.
According to Escudero, if the case is included in the Senate Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality Committee report, as suggested by Gatchalian, the Senate legal department would be asked to look into it.
"That is part of the recommendation then we will ask Legal to look into it kung sino yung pwedeng maghain ng Complaint Affidavit na empleyado ng komite," Escudero said.
However, the Senate President noted that a case for violating Article 150 of the Revised Penal Code was seldom filed.
"Sa pagkakaalam ko bihira o hindi pa. Sa tagal ko sa Kongreso, hindi pa. It would be a nice test case too," Escudero said.
Gatchalian's recommendation was made during the continuation of the Senate investigation into the raided POGO hub in Bamban where Guo is allegedly involved.
This was raised as Guo continued to evade the arrest order issued by the Senate against her and her relatives two weeks ago. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
