Marcos vows mobile clinic in every province

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Monday said he will ensure that mobile primary care clinics will be deployed in every province to extend healthcare services to people living outside the metro.

In his third State of the Nation Address (SONA), Marcos said that he aims that as soon as possible, all provinces will have enough centers or facilities that are capable of providing basic medical services to those who are in need.

“Titiyakin natin na ang bawat isang probinsya ay mabibigyan ng mobile clinic, upang ang laboratory exam at ilan pang pangunahing serbisyong-medikal ay mapapalapit natin sa ating mga kababayan,” he said.

(We will ensure that every single province will be given a mobile clinic, so that laboratory exams and other basic medical services can be brought closer to our countrymen.)

The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) earlier announced that 83 “Bagong Pilipinas” mobile clinics have been sent in various areas starting this month.

Each vehicle is equipped with modern medical equipment, such as digital x-ray machine and ultrasound machines, hematology analyzers, binocular microscope, clinical centrifuge, ophthalmoscope, reagent refrigerator, among others.

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos earlier distributed mobile facilities in seven provinces in Central Luzon.

Furthermore, Marcos in his SONA, said that the health sector will continue to increase the quality of hospitals and specialty centers, all while modern hospitals are being built.

He noted that the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) Cancer Center is the first public-private partnership (PPP) to be approved under his administration.

“Together with the Philippine Cancer Center of the DOH, which broke ground last March, these two specialty hospitals will soon join our nation’s fight against cancer. These Centers will be a godsend to the more than four hundred thousand Filipinos who are afflicted with this deadly disease,” Marcos added.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
