Marcos: Gov't employees to enjoy salary adjustments, medical allowances
The Marcos administration has allocated funds for the adjustments of salaries of government employees, with the government also committing to providing additional benefits for them.
President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. made the promise during his third State of the Nation Address.
''Para naman sa ating mga kawani ng gobyerno, mayroon silang maaasahang medical allowance bilang karagdagang benepisyo sa susunod na taon,'' Marcos said in his speech before a joint session of Congress at the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City.
[As for our government employees, they will expect medical allowance as additional benefit next year.]
''At hindi lamang iyon. Mayroon ding napipintong omento sa suweldo na makukuha nila sa apat na tranches. Naglaan na tayo ng pondo para rito simula sa taong ito at sa mga susunod na taon,'' he added.
[Not only that. There will be salary adjustments in four tranches. We've allocated funds for this beginning this year and succeeding years.]
Marcos further said his administration has extended the services of the job order and contract of service personnel working in government.
''This will also afford them ample opportunity to work on their civil service eligibility, while gaining additional relevant experience and training to upgrade their employment qualifications,'' he said.
Last month, the Department of Budget and Management said the Compensation and Benefits Study for salary adjustments of state workers is already being finalized.
“The DBM assures its readiness to support the implementation of the salary adjustment once approved, to ensure a competitive and equitable compensation package for our civil servants,” the DBM had said. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
