Angara: PBBM has good news for teachers, students

President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. will make an announcement during his third State of the Nation Address (SONA) today that will make teachers and students happy, newly-appointed Education Secretary Sonny Angara said.

“Mahal na mahal niya yung mga teachers, students, I think he will say [something]that will make the education sector...the teachers, students...magiging maligaya sila,” Angara said in a chance interview ahead of the President's SONA.

(He values teachers and the students so much, so he will say something that... something that will make these people happy.)

Angara said that the Department of Education’s first order of business is simplifying the conduct of the teachers’ administrative work.

Likewise, Angara said DepEd is in the middle of reviewing the proposed budget of the agency with the budget deliberations in Congress set to start next week.

Earlier on Monday, Angara said the education sector is beset with many problems, and that he cannot solve these alone. —RF, GMA Integrated News
