CHED issues warning vs fake calls for SIKAP scholarship applications

The Commission on Higher Education on Friday warned against fake scholarship application announcements.

“There is NO current call for SIKAP applications for 2024,” the CHED stressed amid the "fake news" circulating online calling for applications to the Scholarship for Instructors' Knowledge Advancement Program (SIKAP) for 2024.

SIKAP provides opportunities for Higher Education Institution (HEI) teaching and non-teaching personnel, or former HEI teaching or non-teaching personnel seeking advanced studies in identified universities and colleges in the Philippines.

The grant will cover the actual tuition and school fees, as well as a P37,000 living allowance per month for scholars undertaking a Master’s Degree, P50,000 living allowance for those taking a Doctorate Degree, a P24,000  book allowance per school year, and a P24,000 transportation allowance, among others.

CHED advised the public to refer to the  CHED official website at ched.gov.ph and CHED's Official Facebook page at facebook.com/PhCHED.gov for announcements.

Individuals may also contact their respective CHED Regional Office or visit ched.gov.ph/sikap for inquiries. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
