Alice Guo's accountant arrested

The Senate has taken Nancy Gamo, the accountant of suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, into custody, Super Radyo dzBB's Nimfa Ravelo reported on Saturday.

The report said Gamo underwent a medical checkup after she was brought to the Senate in Pasay City, where she will stay pending the resumption of the Senate inquiry into the raided POGO hub in Bamban.

Gamo, the person in charge of filing documents for the businesses of the Guo family, was reported to be in good medical condition.

Guo, Gamo, and six others were ordered arrested by the Senate for their continued absence from the hearings.

Four teams were deployed by the Senate to serve the arrest orders against Guo, Gamo, Dennis Cunanan, and the mayor's relatives, Sheila Leal Guo, Wesley Leal Guo, Jian Zhong Guo, Seimen L. Guo, and Wenyi Lin.

Each team has been assigned specific arrest orders since the addresses are different.

The Senate’s Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms (OSAA) was given 24 hours to serve the arrest orders and detain the eight individuals at its office.

But the arresting teams were unable to locate the mayor or her siblings on Saturday.

In Jonathan Andal's ''24 Oras Weekend'' report, the mayor was not found in her Bamban residence by the Senate OSAA team and the police.

Guo had not been back to the residence for some time, according to the caretaker who faced the arresting team.

The arresting team was denied entry to the garment factory in Valenzuela City, the listed address of the mayor's siblings, Siemen, Sheila, and Wesley.

They also visited another garment factory in Marilao, Bulacan, allegedly owned by the Guo family, but were unable to find the mayor's siblings.

In an update by Senate President Francis ''Chiz'' Escudero, as reported by Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Roberto Ancan, Dennis Cunanan was also not found.

Cunanan's camp, however, gave assurance that he would attend the next hearing of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality.

Subpoenas will be issued against 18 other individuals to attend the next hearing on July 29 at 10 a.m. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
