Alice Guo sister's NBI clearance also showed picture of another person
Like in the case of suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo, the National Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday disclosed that their records of the embattled mayor's sister, Shiela Leal Guo, also showed a photo of a different person.
"Meron din po tayong nahanap na isa pa pong NBI clearance sa aming files na nagngangalan din pong Shiela Guo y Leal, subalit sa ating pagkukumpara na iba rin ang larawan nito kaysa doon sa Shiela Guo na sinasabing kapatid," NBI assistant director Angelito Magno said during the Senate hearing.
He said Mayor Guo and her siblings, Shiela and Wesley, all applied for an NBI clearance in 2021.
Magno also said a woman named Alice Leal Guo, who applied for an NBI clearance in 2005, but different from the incumbent Bamban mayor was "non-existent" in the address that she declared in Project 8, Quezon City.
The other Shiela Leal Guo, Magno said, also declared the same address at #83 Kalantiaw Street in Project 8, Quezon City. Like the other Alice Leal Guo, Shiela is non-existent on the declared address.
Asked if Wesley has the same case as his sisters, Magno said they are still checking the records of Mayor Guo's brother.
Senator Risa Hontiveros, who leads the investigation into the illegal POGO in Bamban which is being linked to Mayor Guo, raised the possibility of "clustered group identity theft" if the NBI finds Wesley's records to be the same case as Alice and Sheila's.
"Parang 'yung identity theft hindi lang talaga solong enterprise. Baka clustered group na identity theft," the senator said, to which Magno agreed.
"Opo, tama po kayo... Parang lumalabas po na ito ay isang systematic scheme na katulad po na pwedeng magamit sa pagnanakaw o pag-assume ng ibang identity ng kababayan po natin," Magno said.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
