NBI: ‘Alice Guo’ fingerprint from 2005 not the same as suspended mayor

The third fingerprint record of an “Alice Guo” from 2005 did not match the fingerprints of suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Jaime Santiago said Wednesday.

According to Glen Juego’s report on Super Radyo dzBB, Santiago said that this “Alice Guo" applied for a clearance at Project 8, Quezon City almost 20 years ago.

However, upon inspection, authorities found that there were no records of an Alice Guo living in the area.

Santiago said the NBI is still looking into the motive of the third individual and if she was ordered to apply for a clearance.

The NBI director also asked the public to come forward if they have any information on the woman in the NBI clearance.

Earlier, the NBI said provided details of the fingerprints from 2005.

"Meron pang isang Alice Guo na kumuha ng clearance in 2005. Remember that yung [alien certificate of registration] niya na naka-file sa amin is 2006. Kumuha si Alice Guo 2021 ng clearance. Merong kumuha ng clearance 2005, Alice Guo din,” Santiago explained.

The NBI previously found that Guo and Chinese passport holder Guo Hua Ping have the same fingerprints.

Senator Risa Hontiveros made the disclosure in a statement, saying the NBI findings confirmed suspicions that the suspended mayor was "a fake Filipino... masquerading as a Filipino citizen to facilitate crimes."

Guo is at the center of the Senate investigation into the raided POGO hub in Bamban after several documents showed that she was personally involved in the processing of documents for its operations.

She has repeatedly denied being a Chinese citizen, saying she was a Filipino born of a Chinese father and a Filipino mother.

On Tuesday, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian urged her to "expose the main players" in illegal POGOs in the country.  —VAL, GMA Integrated News
